Jane Burns is President of Burns Mediation Services and the System Administrator and Intake Specialist for the Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System. For the past seventeen years, Burns has worked with the system sharing her expertise in mediation systems design and implementation focusing on creating better communication between school districts and families. Burns also administers the Birth to Three Mediation System in Wisconsin. She has been a guest lecturer in the Advanced Mediation course in the Graduate Program in Dispute Resolution at Marquette University and in the Theoretical Foundations of Contemporary Practices in Special Education graduate course, University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, Whitewater, WI. Burns is a past President of the Wisconsin Association of Mediators Board of Directors. Burns published an article in the Wisconsin Law Journal, Alternative Dispute Resolution Issue, Stakeholder Involvement Yields Better Mediation Systems. She has a B.A. in English Composition from Beloit College and a Master’s Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Marquette University.
