Cassie Velasquez, M.Ed., is a national trainer for Key2ed, training special education personnel and administrators on Individual Education Plan Facilitation and Conflict Resolution. She travels the country providing a structure and a process for the IEP meeting that is collaborative and empowering for all team members. Cassie brings 21 years of educational experience focusing on special education. Currently she is Scottsdale School District’s Lead IEP Facilitator, managing trainings for the district in capacity building and facilitating IEP meetings that involve advocates and attorneys. She has worked for Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ) maintaining online asynchronous communication with students who are seeking their Masters Degrees in Special Education, assisting them in achieving completion objectives and teaching material from approved curriculum while motivating students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. She has taught classes relating to special education law, strategies and characteristics of students with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and strategies and characteristics of students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. She also served as a Master Level Teacher Supervisor for Grand Canyon University.
