Adele Ciriacy Jr., M.A., earned her master's degree from George Washington
University in organizational change theory. She has been an educator since 1969 and has
taught regular education, special education, history and reading, in elementary, middle and high schools in Minnesota, Maryland, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She has been an adjunct instructor at North Adams State College, North Adams, MA and the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.
Since 1989 Ms. Ciriacy has served in the Minnesota Department of Education as a
monitor, complaint investigator, hearing specialist, equity specialist and due process specialist. She is knowledgeable in special education law and special education delivery
systems. Currently, as a due process specialist, Ms. Ciriacy works with parents and
districts in conflict, and develops training programs to help parties avoid the need for state intervention in conflicts.
