IEP Meeting Facilitation is made available upon the request of parents or districts. IEP Meeting Facilitation assists teams in the effective development of an Individualized Education Program.

System Design/Management
Under contract with the State to provide mediation services, Sound Options Group also facilitates a small number of IEP’s when the State requests/offers facilitation services. The contractor provides technical assistance (training and consultation) to ESD’s who have chosen to develop a local cadre of trained IEP facilitators.
Policy/Procedures:
The facilitator’s role is:
- To ensure that during an IEP meeting, the IEP team addresses all matters on the meeting agenda
- To facilitate the meeting process so that all team members participate and are given an opportunity to provide input
- To assist the IEP team to reach decisions about a student’s program
